As an on-site graphic recorder I use text and images to visually represent conversation. The real-time murals that I create visually engage participants into the discussion. As the conversation develops, I utilize a variety of skills including listening, thinking, and drawing to synthesize the dialogue.
As a visual learning tool, this process aids in critical thinking, decision-making, and strategic planning. It focuses and engages groups as they work. Participants see their thoughts mapped out as they express their ideas and it helps the team align around and clarify concepts.
The graphic record lives on long after the event has finished. As digital images, the illustrations not only trigger memories of the content but also the experience of the conversation.
My work has been used in presentations, brochures, websites, and industry magazines.
I have also expanded my practice to include off-site illustration. In this process I collaborate with presenters to synthesize difficult concepts to be used in their talks.
The industries that I have worked in include but are not limited to: education, world health, government, financial, pharmaceutical, and technology. My clients include: Pfizer, Harvard Business School, MasterCard, Vonage, General Motors, Target Corporation, Progressive, the U.S. Air Force and many more. My background is in the fine arts and I have been a professional artist for over a decade. I have earned my MFA and BFA in fine art photography and exhibit my artwork across the country. Aside from working in the studio, in my spare time I love to travel (especially if it involves hiking, kayaking, and eating!)
